Rap star T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, was sentenced in Atlanta federal court Friday to one year and one day in prison and ordered to pay a $100,300 fine on weapons charges related to purchasing machine guns and silencers. However, this unfortunate and "foolish"(in his words} act, has not silenced the rapper himself. "I hope most will learn from my mistakes" TI said at a press conference in Atlanta friday, after his sentencing. "My whole life, I've been put in the worst situations and have had to make the best of it." I think, from at least this statement, TI is making it seem like someone else other than himself put him in the situation he is in. TI is the one who gave his bodyguard 12,000 dollars specifically to buy guns and silencers. TI will be sentenced to a year in prison and that's final. Now, there is the question of his music career. A year without any singles, mixtapes, or collaborations is a long time to most rappers but I think TI will be OK. TI has been around a long time, his latest album, "Paper Trail" is currently double platinum. I think that a year is too short a time for people to forget about the rapper.
